Favorite Pet Friendly Lodging In New England
Burlington, Vermont is one of the most beautiful places in New England. Boasting great outdoor adventures and a hip, laid-back downtown, Burlington is a playground for dogs and their friends alike. You will find many fun things to do with your puppy. Bike the Burlington Greenway along the shores of Lake Champlain and sample local beers at one of the city’s many dog-friendly breweries. Burlington brewpubs that allow dogs include Foam Brewers and Zero Gravity Craft Brewery, while places like Switchback Brewing Co. also allow dogs in the house. One of New England’s most famous pedestrian (and kid) friendly shopping malls, Church Street Marketplace is filled with amazing restaurants and shops. For pet-friendly accommodations, Made in Vermont, a charming bed and breakfast within walking distance of downtown, offers the comfort of a home away from home for you and your dog.
When the dog days of summer arrive, there’s no better place for your dog than Cape Cod. With miles of pristine beaches, an incredible charm, and an abundance of outdoor activities, Cape Cod is the perfect summer getaway for humans and dogs alike. You will love visiting Cape Cod National Seashore. The sun-drenched sandy beaches and trails keep dogs on leashes even during peak season. Then quench your thirst at Provincetown Brewing Company. They have dog-friendly (and social) dog kennels and a sign in the beer garden that reads, “We bite racists.” There are also many animal charities in the Cape. Pamper your dog at the lofty Chatham Birds Inn or go “rafting” with your dog at Nickerson State Park’s campground.
Cape Cod National Seashore is just one of the many reasons to visit Cape Cod with your dog.
If you’re looking for a beach vacation with your dog, check out Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Just eight miles south of Portland, this city is the perfect place to escape the day without going far. At the southern end of Fort Williams State Park, home of the beautiful Portland Lighthouse, there is a large area for dogs to run and play. Of course, you can’t visit Maine without trying the local lobster. Tom to Maine has an outdoor food truck in the park with pet friendly tables. Higgins Beach is a popular place for children to play in the sand and water. After a day of fun in the sun, relax at the Inn by the Sea, an upscale beachfront resort offering the ultimate in luxury for pets and their owners.
Places To Visit In New England During Summer
You and your dog can enjoy exploring Nantucket together. This small island off the coast of Cape Cod has a few traffic lights and lots of authentic New England charm. When you cross on the ferry, you will see many pet owners visiting, and it is clear that Nantucket is a place that welcomes visitors. There are many dog activities to choose from, from hiking the Scocet Bluff Trail to exploring historic lighthouses. The city is full of dog-friendly patios, including breakfast favorite Black Eyed Susan and eclectic American bistro Queequeg. Stay and stay at Kuningan Lantern Inn, a cozy bed and breakfast. We welcome four-legged friends who can choose a room for a small fee.
This dog-friendly town in northeastern Vermont is a must-see. Known as the Ski Capital of the East, Stowe is home to world-class resorts and attracts local and international tourists every season. But Stowe, with its many outdoor activities no matter the season, is the perfect place to relax with your dog.
For the seasoned adventurer, Smugglers Notch State Park offers miles of trails through the beautiful expanses of the Green Mountains. For something a little more low-key (but just for fun), take your dog for a walk along the Stowe Recreation Path. This 18-mile trail includes dog-friendly restaurants and breweries along the way. In the area there are many dog services to suit all budgets. Beautiful resorts such as the Trapp Family Lodge, Topnotch Resort, and the Lodge at Spruce Peak offer great accommodations. However, if you are looking for a more affordable accommodation, consider staying with your dog at the Field Guide Lodge or The Stowehof.

New England Road Trip: Where To See The Most Spectacular Foliage This Fall
Our puppy, Lincoln, has been traveling with us since 2019 and is a big part of why we love to travel. Simply put, jumping in the car is the easiest way for us to go with him (and we take Lincoln everywhere).
What was your favorite travel destination for the past 3 years and what would you choose if you were planning your next trip?
(2) spend a lot of time outdoors, in the forest, walking (and he always said that he likes places that are less crowded with squirrels and smell more);
(3) Beaches and lakes that are easily accessible to water where they can hide together with sand and mud where the smell can reappear.

So we thought about our travel lists and put together a wish list for this road and Lincoln. If you have a dog that likes to do everything when you travel, and you are looking for ideas for dog trips, this is it.
Because of the heat and fall, Lincoln took us on a road trip to New England, where the weather is warm and outdoor activities abound. This is home to one of the most dog-friendly parks in the United States.
This guide is similar to the Good Bad Road: 10-Day Northeast Road Trip itinerary, but with just the basics and tips to bring your dog along.
In the summer, take advantage of the long daylight hours and lower temperatures compared to other countries. Or take a walk in autumn and enjoy the wonderful autumn in one of the best places in the world for autumn leaves.
Best Dog Friendly Destinations In Europe
We spent 5 months in Ontario and New England during the 2022 travel season, including 2 weeks in Vermont in July, a long camping trip on Acadia National Park’s Schoodic Peninsula in early August, and mid to mid August We spent three weeks near Lake Placid, New York. One month in Campton, New Hampshire in August and September, three weeks in Ellsworth, Maine in October, and three weeks in Attleboro, Massachusetts in October. (We also spent three weeks in Ontario at the beginning of our trip.)
This month is never a bad time in New England. Sure, it can get hot at night in the summer, but as long as you make sure your rental house has air conditioning, you’ll be fine. (To be fair, we’re saying this as Texas residents, so we’re probably more immune to the heat than someone who lives up north year round. so in that sense, our tolerance is low, haha!)
However, if you are planning a trip to see the beautiful autumn leaves, aim for the second week of October. Places known for their falls (like Kancamagus Highway and Stowe, Vermont) can be crowded, but the view is worth it.
RTL Tips: Do you want to spend more time hiking and by water during the visit?
