And we were happy with its location. The view is absolutely stunning. Every morning I would go outside to watch the sunrise and every evening I would watch the sunset from the beautiful balcony listening to the ocean waves. There couldn’t be a more serene environment to enjoy a carefree, relaxing time.

The best part for me was that we weren’t surrounded by buildings and hotels, so it felt like we were on a private beach. Restaurants, tourist essentials and grocery stores are nearby and easily accessible. It’s a home away from home…or should I say home away from home!  Who doesn’t want their own beach house?!

Somewhere Time 1 is perfect for us! There were 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms plus an extra room with bunk beds so we could sleep 12!  Everything was decorated and we felt at the beach!  The rooms were a good size and each floor had its own bathroom with plenty of counters.  Loved the open floor plan and high ceilings in the living room and kitchen.  The kitchen was perfect and had everything we needed to cook.  I loved that there was a laundry room to wash my sandy and salty clothes before I got home.  There is also free Wi-Fi, cable TV and air conditioning.

Check-in and check-out are easy.  There is a secure exterior and you must enter your code to access the keys.  No reception, no office, go first then go home.  It was very easy.  But remember that at any home rental, unlike a hotel, there is no cleaning service and you will need to provide your own toilet paper towels. Although towels and plenty of toilet paper and paper towels are provided on the first day.  I like the homely feel of a rental property rather than a hotel.  Especially when you are staying for more than a day or two.  By cooking your own meals you save a lot of money and you are not forced to eat out every day.  Still, you want to stay here.

To top it off, the management staff was very friendly and helpful. Remember that they have many features to choose from so you can find one that is right for you! We look forward to staying at one of your properties in the near future. The next time you are thinking of going to the beach, I strongly suggest that you don’t look for a random place or hotel to stay, go straight to Harris Properties Management.

Thanks to Harris Properties for hosting the #vgbsquad and #vgbdogs for the weekend!  All opinions are our own.

Best 21 Pet Friendly Hotels In Gulf Shores, Alabama(al), United States In 2024

When I choose a non-working beach vacation that can take us from Tennessee, I have a hard time going anywhere other than South Walton, Florida. But sometimes I want to be away from people as much as possible and that is impossible in 30A. So I googled my little heart out one night and found Dauphin Island in Mobile County and the perfect Alabama pet beach vacation right on the bay.

I still love Florida, but sometimes it’s too forbidding and crowded. So let’s talk about alternatives, shall we?

We visit Alabama regularly. My dad is from Birmingham, so we have family there, and we’re big Huntsville fans, visiting as often as we can. However, as a 30A girl, I had spent very little time on the Alabama coast and knew absolutely nothing about Dauphin Island before visiting. Actually, I had never heard of the name, and consider myself an expert on southern travel.

It really was an internet rabbit hole that led me there. And when I saw that I could rent a house on the beach – because, the whole island is basically a beach.

Things To Do With Your Dog

Dauphin Island is a 14-mile long barrier island that is less than two miles wide at its widest point. It is also at risk of extinction in the coming years as climate change causes sea levels to rise.

. Cross Mobile Bay on the long, winding bridge and don’t blink once on the other side or you’ll miss the city entirely. I can’t tell you about the restaurant and bar options we went to outside of town other than popping into Lighthouse Bakery for breakfast on the road.

In Tennessee, we drove our Jeep full of coolers and non-perishable food and alcohol (duh) containers.

With us. It turned out to be the cheapest vacation I’ve ever taken! In addition to lodging, which cost $1285 during our stay, we spent $40 on gas on the way, $40 on the way back, and $2 for ice at the outside dispenser. It’s ridiculous how much money you save by not eating out for every holiday meal.

Beautiful Dog Friendly Beaches In Florida For Fido’s Next Visit

A three-mile bridge over Mobile Bay brings you downtown. There is also the option of taking a scenic boat ride on the Mobile Bay Ferry, which travels between Fort Gaines on Dauphin Island and Fort Morgan on Mobile Point.

Once in Dauphin, there is only one main road, Bienville Boulevard, which bisects the island for seven miles, with a dedicated bike lane on the south side of the road. We saw many runners and cyclists pass by our house throughout the day. And although Dauphin Island is 14 miles long, its habitable portion is only half that long. The rest of the island is undeveloped coastline.

Our beach vacations are usually a mix of resorts, condos and home rentals, but Dauphin Island has no chains. There are a few motels along the road, but the island is mostly vacation rentals, and since we wanted a kitchen and to be able to isolate ourselves on our sandwheel while taking Ella on tour, it was ours. It was the best. We found a great pet friendly home on Dauphin Island and quickly booked it for four days.

Dauphin Island has about 1,300 residents, although every house we saw was a vacation rental, so I’d guess that less than half of them live year-round. Most of them seem to rent out their places on Airbnb, and we definitely got our cozy A-frame, but the house was three-bedroom, two-bathroom, pet-friendly. For families with children. It was right next to the beach access, which was important.

The Best Dog Friendly Beaches In The Us

Our Dauphin Island rental was about $202 a night before fees. However, there are tons of Airbnb rentals on Dauphin Island, so I recommend customizing your search by number of travelers, date range, and price and see what you find.

Is the water around Dauphin Island as beautiful as the Florida Panhandle? Surely not. Although in the southern part is the Gulf of Mexico,
