After all, vacations are more fun when you can bring your best friend. However, finding a dog-friendly hotel in New England requires a lot of research. What are the hotel rules for dogs? Are there any additional fees? Are there weight or breed restrictions? You may worry about sacrificing comfort when traveling with your dog. Are motels and roadside camps the only way to “break it”? Located on the shores of Lake Champlain, Basin Harbor believes no family vacation is complete without four-legged family members. Their pet policy allows well-behaved dogs of any size in guest rooms for a fee of $20 per pet. If you want to book online, you can select the cabins you want and then add the pet fee at checkout.

This resort has everything you need for a wonderful vacation without leaving 700 acres of land. Choose from a range of fun activities for the whole family, from land to lake. The guest pool and beach are pet-free, but dogs have their own swimming area, Fanny Beach. Roscoe and I even rented a sailboat to go out on the lake! You can also eat in one of the five restaurants on site. Dogs are not allowed in the dining room, but they can eat with you on the outdoor terrace of Red Factory Hotel. Dog-sitting and dog-sitting services are also available if you want to have fun without Fido.
From the farm to the water, there’s plenty for dogs to do at Basin Park.
The Field Guide Lodge in Stowe is a beautiful boutique hotel operated by Lark Hotels. As with most properties, the pet policy allows dogs up to 70 pounds for an additional $50 per dog per day. We stayed in one of the three dog friendly cottage suites with lots of space and a private outside entrance. You can book these kits online and add a tag with your dog’s number, size and name at checkout. Dogs are only allowed in guest rooms. Out of respect for other guests, dogs are allowed on the hotel balcony and outside common areas.
This hotel has stylish cottage style decoration. The lobby lounge with vintage wood stoves and cozy fireplaces invites you to curl up with a book or a board game. You can have breakfast in the lobby cafe or simply enjoy drinks and light snacks in the vintage themed Après bar. You have to reserve the outdoor hot pot in advance, which is a bit inconvenient. But the advantage is that you are guaranteed to have it. The location cannot be beat. We managed to walk to the city center and the shuttle bus stopped in front of the hotel. It’s the perfect home base for you and your pup on your Vermont adventure.

The Inn at Mountain View Farm is a special place to stay in the heart of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. Per pet policy, dogs are allowed for an additional $50 per night in select rooms: Pecham, Danville, N. Danville, Maidstone and Lost Nation. You can select “Pet friendly” and book your room online. The hotel is so pet-friendly that there’s a friendly gold digger at reception and there’s even an animal sanctuary. Make sure your dog reacts to other animals!
We stayed in the cozy but comfortable peach deluxe room. Roscoe liked to sleep in front of the fireplace. In the morning, they welcomed us with sweets and coffee in the main building of the hotel. But in case we couldn’t get enough, the innkeeper brought out his famous pancakes with farm-fresh vegetables. We could not resist
This historic 400-acre ranch on a mountain ridge in the pristine Northeast Kingdom is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed. When I woke up at dawn and watched the sun rise, it was pouring out pastel pinks and purples. It was settled over the mountains and in the valley of the morning mist.

The Kimpton Taconic Hotel in Manchester has one of the most liberal hotel pet policies I’ve come across. Everyone is welcome, from wool to blankets until they’re in the elevator! There are no restrictions on the size, weight, breed or number of pets, and there are no deposits or additional fees. When booking online, filter with pets only and fill out the pet form at check-in.
The Best Dog Friendly Hotels In The U.s
Kimpton Taconic is really a good place to pack your bags. Rooms include food bowls, toys, treats and a plush bed for Orvis. (The famous Orvis store just down the street is a must visit with your dog). Dogs are allowed to eat in the hotel lobby and veranda and in the Miss Grouse restaurant. During the colder seasons, outdoor heaters are available to ensure you and your pup stay warm. Additional services include but are not limited to on-site concierge services, pet sitting, dog walking and pet spa services.
Made Inn Vermont in downtown Burlington is a home away from home for you and your pet. Pet Policy This boutique B&B in town welcomes well-behaved furry friends for $25 per pet per day. You can book directly online, add your dog to the number of guests and specify the details in the notes.
We stayed in room 904, one of the larger rooms recommended for large dogs. It was also very convenient with Roscoe, the bathrooms are down the hall (at least it’s private). The unique feature of the hotel may not be for everyone, but it is in a great location and a short distance from the city center. The owner is very friendly and will be happy to recommend pet friendly restaurants and things to do in Burlington.
Located between the towns of Killington and Rutland in central Vermont, Mountain Top Resort not only allows dogs, it makes dogs a priority. Their pet-friendly policy is welcomed in four luxurious king cottages and a selection of Vermont-style guest houses with boiled carrots, dog beds and bowls. You can pay an additional $50 per dog per night, with a maximum of two dogs per unit. Dogs must be registered at the time of booking.

This warm and intimate room is built around raw wooden beams and has a wonderful view of the mountains. A true escape from the endless and relaxing mountains. It may seem like the world around them is changing, but Stovehof will forever be a familiar place to call a home away from home.
One of the most comfortable hotels in Sto with simple but clean rooms. Breakfast doesn’t meet the requirements, so go elsewhere for breakfast. But grab a drink at Bar Fritz and get cozy with your doll. Choose between playing a board game in the great hall booth, reading a good book in front of the large sunken fireplace, or gazing at the stars around the roaring outdoor fireplace.
