This cozy beach house has everything, upstairs there is a kitchen, living room, two bedrooms and a bathroom. The living room has air conditioning, and the kitchen and bedrooms have ceiling fans. Also on this level is a large undercover entertaining area, grill and fully fenced yard, complete with a dog run for your friend.

We had a very pleasant stay in the monastery cabin. It is centrally located, a pleasant walk down the hill to the main beach and very close to great restaurants and cafes. Yamba and the people we met were very kind! One of the pet friendly options in Australia is caravanning, and most caravan parks allow pets. Caravan parks also have many facilities, such as swimming pools and playgrounds, which is ideal if you are traveling with children.
However, most caravan parks in Australia do not allow dogs in their cabins, although they do allow them on their pitches. If you don’t have a caravan or motorhome and you don’t have a tent, it complicates things.
If you’re looking to stay in a cabin with your dog in New South Wales, I’ve compiled a list of pet-friendly cabins in New South Wales. Most are in RV parks, and some are cabin parks. While not comprehensive, I hope it gives you some ideas on where to go with your pooch on your next vacation.

Caravan parks near Sydney do not allow pets, so there are not many cabins near Sydney that allow pets. Check out these options within a two-hour drive of Sydney.
It’s a two-hour drive south of Sydney to Gerringong, south of Kiama. An excellent caravan park is Wherry Beach Holiday Park. In addition to being pet friendly, the caravan also has two double bedroom cabins.
When booking a cabin with a dog, direct reservations are required. Please note that dogs are allowed in the park outside of NSW opening hours and on weekends.
Yamba Lighthouse Cottages
One of the best things about staying with your dog at Wherry Beach Holiday Park is that it’s right opposite Wherry Beach which has an off-leash section. There is also an outdoor park and the dog-friendly Kiama Beach Walk.
Recently, another Kiama Beach holiday park operated by Kiama Council started allowing pets in some cabins. Some 2 bedroom cabins at Surf Beach Holiday Park accept pets for an additional $25 per night.
A few steps from the center of Kiama Park and the famous Blohole. Note that the nearby beach does not allow dogs on the sand, although Kaleula Reserve has a dog-friendly area.
Reservations must be made directly by calling or emailing the park. As with Wherry Beach Holiday Park, pets are allowed outside of peak season.
Yamba Caravan Parks And Things To Do
If you want to head north from Sydney, Blacksmiths Beach Holiday Park is a dog-friendly caravan park between the Central Coast and Newcastle. I’ve camped in a cabin in the park before, but there are also two dog cabins.
Both pet cabins have a door to a covered patio, plus a dog bed and water bowl. It is best to call before booking to check the rules as some breeds are prohibited. However, there are no restrictions at peak times.
Just a short walk from Blacksmiths beach with park patrol and a short walk (or long walk) to the dog beach at the north end of town. There is a toilet for dogs within the facility.
Pokolbin is two hours from central Sydney, depending on traffic, but still close enough for a quick weekend getaway with your dog. If you’re looking for a pet-friendly lodge in the Hunter Valley, look no further than Ingenia Vacations Hunter Valley.
Big4 Saltwater At Yamba Holiday Park
The park’s selection of standard and budget cabins are pet-friendly. Please call or email directly to inquire about availability, including the final pet fee. Only one pet is allowed per cabin and a curfew may apply.

There aren’t many pet friendly cabins around Port Stephens, but the best pet friendly caravan park in the region is BIG4 Bays Holiday Park in Anna Bay, but unfortunately pets are not allowed during peak periods, the New Wales school holidays in the south and long weekends.
Dogs are allowed in selected cabins and caravans, and are allowed in strong and weak areas. Choose from two bedroom, studio and Betty Budget cabins, or Daisy Luxury Caravan or Ruby Retro Caravan. Dog Friendly Caravan Parks In Australia With Fenced Sites
The park is just a short walk from the Birubi Beach Dog Park or head to Bagnolls Beach in Corlett on the calm waters of Port Stephens. The building also has a free swimming pool for dogs.
The twin towns of Forster-Tuncurry are a great place to meet your dog. There are plenty of dog-friendly beaches and cafes, as well as pet-friendly cabins so you can stay with your pet.
One car park that offers pet-friendly cabins is Lane’s Holiday Island, opposite the lake in Forster. Dog owners regularly recommend pets in selected cabins. Choose between villas and cabins where pets are allowed, and each can sleep four or five people. Double check that the sheet has been delivered.
Up to two pets are allowed per reservation and there are no seasonal restrictions. Come early if you want to spend your summer vacation with your dog!
Big4 Saltwater Yamba Holiday Park
Discovery Parks – Forster is a dog-friendly caravan park in Forster-Tunkuri, located north of the city on the Daravank River. Dogs are welcome in the park all year round, in selected places and in selected huts.
Cabins where dogs are allowed are clearly marked on site; look for the “Dogs Allowed” symbol. Even Deluxe riverside cabins allow pets! Please note that an additional fee applies and usually only one dog is allowed per booking, but if you have two puppies please check with management.
The park also has plenty of additional options for dogs (families will also love the newly opened resort-style pool and petting zoo). There is a fenced and shaded dog park, a self-service dog wash and dry service (extra charge) and a Discovery Barks walk every Sunday at 8am.
Further north, Diamond Water Caravan Park is on the Camden Haven River near Laurieton, 40 minutes south of Port Macquarie. Surrounded by bushland, this is a beautiful place that accepts dogs all year round, but no cats to protect the local wildlife.

A popular car park with pet owners is Muni Beach, north of Coffs Harbour. This caravan accepts dogs all year round, both in the facility and in selected cabins.
Dog-friendly cabin options include 4-person Premium cabins, 5-person Superior cabins, and 6-person Economy cabins, as well as new petite cabins perfect for couples with dogs. The options for dogs are clearly stated.
