The best ranking was Durdle Door Beach in Dorset with a score for dogs 8.85 out of 10. It has been described as “the perfect seafront trail for dogs and their owners, with the famous limestone gates providing a dreamy background for retrieval.” The rating is based on a West Coast rating of over 4,298.

Elsewhere on Dorset Beach, Man O’War Beach came in second with 8.3 points. Also known as East Durdle’s Door, this is a calm beach with water protected from the waves – meaning you can play with your dog.

It is connected to the Welsh coastal sanctuary of the Three Cliffs Bay in Glamorgan, the first beach on the list. The beach here has a lot of room for sightseeing.

In fourth place is Traeth Marloes in Pembrokeshire with 8.2 out of 10. The report said the golden beach with its cliff background is a “perfect photo opportunity dog”.

Finishing the top five is Cuckmere Haven Beach in East Sussex with a score of 8.06. The quiet gravel section is next to the white cliffs of Blaendulais.

Devon has the most dog-friendly beaches on the list 22 times out of 148.

The 10 Best Dog Friendly Beaches In Cornwall

The fine golden sands and blue waters of St Ives Bay are most evident in Europe. So it is not uncommon for them to also have beautiful beaches for dogs.

The bustling town of St Ives is within easy reach of the beach. You can spend the day away with shops, restaurants and cafes nearby. 

Harbor Beach welcomes dogs year-round, however, with seasonal bans between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., July 1-August 31.

St Ives is a busy port, so why not spend some part of the day unloading goods from local fishermen while your dog swims in the water.

Located between the harbor and the Porthgwidden Beach, Bamaluz Beach is overlooked, making it the perfect retreat for your dog to relax and enjoy. The beach itself is very shady, however, the high walls around it always block the sun.
