Umstead Park is a great place in Raleigh with a variety of long and challenging hiking trails. Now that our boys are a little older, we prefer short distances. Parking is easy and there are several entrances near restaurants and breweries if you want to fuel up later.
Wye Hill is definitely one of our favorite places to eat well and watch the sunset on the rally line. It is also a great playground for animals. It is especially good in the warmer months when worn with fans and misters. In winter, it is one of the hottest places in the city.
