Santo Domingo is the largest city in the country, but it’s definitely worth a visit.
La Zona is filled with rich colonial history and historical sites worth visiting. You’ll find beautiful architecture and lively streets
Some of the most important attractions include Columbus Park, Independence Park, Fortaleza Osama, the Royal Museum and Las Damas Street.
If you want to go out of town you can go to the beach Playa Boca Chica is the most popular so there will be a lot of tourists.
Top 10 Best Beaches In Dominican Republic · Visit Dominican Republic
Susa is a small town northeast of Puerto Plata. There’s a large stretch of beach lined with beautiful beaches and restaurants, and a restaurant town to explore.
Susa is an ideal place to start diving or get certified. I got my diving certificate from Sosua Dive Center and it was a great experience. Even if you don’t want to get certified, they offer snorkeling and diving experiences.
I’ll be completely honest and honest, I love the beach and love visiting Susa. However, I found it to be full of older foreign men hanging out with young Dominican women and prostitution was very apparent, so I’m glad I chose Kabiri instead of Souza.
If you like quiet towns, Capri is the perfect choice for you.

My favorite beaches are here, I love them because they have long stretches of sand and are relatively free of people. I can’t believe the beach is so empty even though it’s peak tourist season
If someone asked me my opinion on where to go in the country, my answer would be Las Terrenas Activities include renting and riding quad bikes or scooters, surfing, kitesurfing and heading to Cascade Lemon out front.
If you visit Las Terrenas or Samana, Cascada Limon in the province of Samana is a must-see. It’s just 30 minutes from Las Terrenas and you can get there by ATV or scooter.
There are some mud hikes that require crossing some rivers, or you can pay to hire a horse to take you there. possible.
Best Resorts In The Dominican Republic
Once you get there you will come across a beautiful waterfall that you can jump into
If you are looking for resort accommodation, Khunta Cana is your best choice.
There isn’t much to do outside the resort other than exploring some souvenir shops, bars and restaurants.
If you still want to visit Punta Cana but don’t want to stay at a resort, you can get great deals by staying at a nearby Airbnb. I went there on New Year’s Day, stayed in an Airbnb, and went to the beach for a beach party at one of the hotels.

If there’s one place you can’t miss in the Dominican Republic, it’s Isla Saona. It has some of the most beautiful turtles and water I have ever seen.

The rainy and hurricane seasons run from June to November, but I wouldn’t recommend avoiding this season as it can be a good time to visit with less crowds.
Island hopping is not easy in other countries I have visited. Buses to remote areas are difficult to arrange and private transportation is expensive.
Renting a car is a great option if you’re traveling in a group, and it’s the best way to get to and from less touristy cities. Stops you, and people here are terrible at driving.
An affordable way to get around is by bus, from Santo Domingo you can get to Puerto Plata or Sosua for less than $10.

Between cities you can travel with Motocones motorcycle taxis, but the most popular way to get around is with a mini guagua (shuttle truck). It’s a complete experience as they often sit together, but it’s the cheapest way to get to Capri from the city or two neighboring cities such as Sosua
