Day Trips With Dogs Ontario

Day Trips With Dogs Ontario – If you have pets, you can understand why you don’t want to leave home without them. They mean everything to us. I am a dog mom to my beautiful son Maui, who has just turned 1 year old. Time flies with this beautiful boy. Even though we love spending time at home with him, I’m always on the lookout for dog-friendly places because Maui loves the outdoors (what dog doesn’t? lol). I took Maui to several dog-friendly beaches this summer and I have to share one beach that I think stands out from the crowd. Honestly, this dog-friendly beach tops my list for beach days in Maui year after year. Pinery Provincial Park Dog Beach in Grand Bend is probably one of the best dog beaches I’ve ever been to.

I know – I gave a lot away in one paragraph above, but if you’re still not sold, read on to find out why. There are a few things I like when looking for a dog-friendly beach, and Pinery Provincial Park Dog Beach ticks all of them:

From the GTA it takes 2 hours and 15 minutes to get there, or another 30 minutes if you’re coming from Toronto. From where I live it takes 1 hour and 45 minutes, which isn’t bad at all. We usually walk the streets because we like to see the city along the way.

Dog Friendly Cross Country Road Trip

Pinery Provincial Park is a provincial park located on the shores of Lake Huron near Grand Bend in southwestern Ontario. Lake Huron’s deep blue waters are beautiful on all sides of the shore – from famous Grand Bend Beach to Pinery Provincial Park. I also saw turquoise in this lake and it was beautiful.

Now all beaches will be crowded, but I feel that Pinery Provincial Park beach is much better because the beach is so wide that there is plenty of space between the groups coming to the beach. I like this! We almost felt like we had our own place on the beach.

So, when it comes to the dog beach in this park, there are Dog Beach 1 and Dog Beach 2. Once we entered the park, we need to go to the appropriate places. This park is also an ideal place for walking your dog. There are beautiful trails there – this time I didn’t get to see them because I spent all my time on the beach, but

I have visited quite a few dog beaches this summer and the worst thing about some of them is how dirty the dog beach is. Just because it’s a dog beach doesn’t mean we have to tolerate feces/algae floating in the water, right? Oh, that’s a dream story for another day. By the way, Pinery Provincial Dog Beach was so clean I was shocked. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a clean, crowded beach. lol This is my favorite part. Of course, cleanliness is very high. I can see myself spending the entire summer here.

Dog Beach Opens At Innisfil Beach Park

This is the first thing I consider when planning Maui beach activities. Some beaches may contain cyanobacteria (cyanobacteria), which can cause illness in dogs and often lead to death. Don’t take them to the beach where the water is contaminated with algae. Blue-green algae are therefore not algae, but rather organisms that receive this name because they often take the form of algae when concentrated in water. When they come together, they usually look like green clumps, green fat, or brown dots in the joint. Therefore, it is not worth taking your dog near such a beach.

For this purpose, I use a resource called Swim Guide, which I update regularly based on water samples taken from the beach and water quality tests. The water quality at Pinery Provincial Park’s dog beach is very good and I like it. They also have an app!

While we struggle to find dog-friendly beaches, we must also remember to enjoy our time at the beach. Sometimes it’s not easy when you go to the dog beach and there is dog feces floating around. lol can you tell I had a bad experience? The dog beach at Pinery Provincial Park is a dog owner’s dream – pristine beaches, clear water and splashing skies. We paddled and swam on the lake all day. I do not want to come back!

You can see why we loved our time at the beach. If you are a dog owner, don’t miss this beautiful beach. Worth the drive and time. You and your dog will thank you. 🤗 We’ve got it: we need ideas for places for dogs. Bookmark this post when planning your own trip with your dog and check back regularly as more content is added.

Dog Road Trip To Selkirk Provincial Park And Port Dover, Ontario (plus Dog Beach!)

Every time we go on a new adventure with Duchess – a little poodle who has just turned 10 months old – we write about it here. In addition to great day trips from Toronto, road trips from Toronto and weekend getaways to Ontario, we offer dog-friendly hotels (or other accommodations such as vacation rentals), cafes and restaurants. and activities related to your furry friend at these dog-friendly places.

Go on a trip with your dog! I’m so excited to explore new dog-friendly places with our new family member, Duchess. (The photo was taken with iPhone 14 Pro)

We’re delighted that so many of you have told us how much you love our dog series. We love it too! Traveling with Princess is certainly a learning experience, but being able to take her with us as a family means a lot to us.

Is Toronto good for dogs? Oh yes! Despite its jungle reputation, Toronto is home to many parks, dog parks and more. Even downtown parks, like the one in College Park, are full of greenery that makes it easy for your dog to relax.

Dog Friendly Things To Do In Windsor & Beyond

It’s time to introduce Toronto to a series of dog trailers; in fact, we’ve lived here for years, and even now it’s less than an hour away. You can now find a more detailed “Toronto with Dogs” article on the hotels shown here in my Toronto Hotels article with more information about each event and restaurant.

Looking for a pet-friendly hotel in Toronto? You saw it at the Chelsea Hotel. (All photos taken with iPhone 14 Pro)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Chelsea and now understand why families love coming here!

While Chelsea Hotel Family Fun Zone is not a fully indoor water park in Toronto, it certainly has many water park elements, such as a very cool corkscrew water slide that runs partially away from the building.

Please note that a more complete list of DOGGY DO at The Chelsea can be found in my Toronto hotel post.

Time at the Chelsea Hotel, go out with your dog (and your kids, if they have them!). Here I will give you a brief overview, but you can find more information in my article about hotels in Toronto.

Cherry Beach Park is fantastic and so far the only off-leash beach I know of that allows dogs.

When it comes to patio season, few cities do better than Toronto. This section is sure to grow over time, and my post on hotels in Toronto goes into more detail.

Dog Friendly Places & Activities In Ontario

Black Lab Brewing is a great place to enjoy food and drinks on a rainy day in Toronto. Since it’s not technically a restaurant (although they do serve food), dogs are even welcome there.

I love Mildred’s Temple Kitchen and dogs! There were even small bowls of cookies and water at the entrance to the patio with the words “Dogs Deserve Brunch Too” written on them. One of the best places for brunch in Toronto.

I had been planning the aforementioned trip to Lake Placid some time ago before I decided to check out the geographically significant places to pee. I told the kids that Ottawa could be a great place and they were happy to be back. A few years ago, it was one of his favorite cities.

Are you reading this during the summer months? Then be sure to read the article about a weekend getaway in Ontario – Ottawa!

Day Trip To Sandbanks Provincial Park, Ontario

There are so many things to do in Ottawa with your dog that it would take at least one more visit to really fill this post… but it would be hard to cover it all in one weekend!

It was nice to finally stay here. A very elegant hotel that feels prestigious from the moment the butler receives the keys. Fairmont hotels are famous for being dog-friendly – some even have pets – and this one is no exception. This is definitely a choice for a couple, but for those who need a bit of luxury
