Is this a Texas treehouse glamping spot? Located near Bastrop in Page, Texas, The Hobbit’s Nest Treehouse is a true escape into the woods. As you might have guessed, The Shire has a Lord of the Rings theme and lots of little decorative pieces to liven it up.

After all, it’s one of the most dog-friendly places you’ll ever find. In fact, the owners live nearby and their two dogs roam the countryside and are likely to pop under the tree to say hello!
There is no wi-fi here, but there is a barbecue, toilet, shower and a small refrigerator, so I recommend cooking on site and really unplugging. Here the sounds of nature are at their peak, especially with the “frog chorus” that you can hear from the beautiful lily pond that the tree house overlooks.
This luxury glamping retreat is located in the middle of the Texas Hill Country outside of Dripping Springs. Options at Lucky Arrow Retreat (new users get $10 off Hipcamp) include yurts, cabins and log cabins, depending on the size of your party and the type of experience you’re looking for. If you really want to squeeze, then as shown in the picture below, it would be the best option for you.
Each room can accommodate up to two guests and has access to a shared bathroom nearby. For something a little more hotel-like, there are Courtyard Cottages, Breezeway Cabins, and Porch Cottages, each of which sleeps up to four people and has its own bathroom.

Although the property is dog and cat friendly, there is a $150 per pet fee, which you can pay when you check into Hipcamp (which gets you into one of the pet-friendly rooms).
If you’ve ever wanted to sleep in a converted shipping container, the FlopHouze Shipping Container Hotel in Round Top, TX is just what you’re looking for. Sit around the fire pit and enjoy amazing stargazing, swim in their infinity pool, and head into town for lots of vintage shopping.
If you want a really good time, book your stay at the Round Top Antiques Fair (book early because people come from all over the world!). Yes, pets are allowed for free!
The Reserve at Greenleaf, near Bastrop, has four luxury lodges. If you’re bringing your pet, their recommended pet-friendly lodge is The Copper Lily ($10 off Hipcamp for new users).

This lodge can accommodate up to 4 guests and comes with amenities such as its own full bathroom and access to miles of hiking trails. They offer a guided walking tour at checkout for an additional $25. They also have things like kayak rentals on request!
Ranch 3232 offers unique accommodations in the Texas Hill Country with cabin rentals, air-conditioned glamping tents, RV sites, campsites, and a gypsy wagon ($10 discount for new users). The property is located in Johnson City, just 1.5 miles from Pedernals Falls State Park, so it’s perfect if you want to do some walking and exploring of the state park during your stay.
My favorite Bird House is their little cabin cabin, though I would recommend it just for a solo stay (+ dog). It’s too small! But if you’re looking for something bigger, cabins are a great option. At the time of writing, their glamping tents do not allow dogs.
It’s always good to check which rooms allow pets at any location, sometimes not all rooms in a property and rules can be changed!
Texas Hill Country Resort Reservations
Located on Lake Bastrop, GLAT Austin features luxury safari-style glamping tents that sleep 3-6 guests depending on the tent you choose ($10 off Hipcamp for new users). Each room at the property has other amenities like fire pits, and some rooms have their own hot tubs.
Mystic Quarry in Canyon Lake, TX is the perfect place to stay if you want to go tubing in the summer! Their accommodations range from tiny houses, cabins, tents, and cabins to RV sites and tent sites ($10 on Hipcamp for new users). You can relax by the pool, go tubing on the nearby Guadalupe River, catch a concert at the Whitewater Amphitheater, or spend the day at Canyon Lake.
If you filter by pets allowed, you’ll find that they have a variety of dog-friendly glamping options like safari lodges (my personal favorite), premium cottages, and even some cabins.
