Dog Friendly Cabin Lake District – Located outside the Lake District, our luxury log cabins are authentic log cabins made using whole logs expertly cut to sit on top of each other.

The wooden architecture combined with the elegant interior and the spectacular view of the river creates an unforgettable experience with friends, family or couples. Located on the banks of the Lynn River, each cozy log cabin comes with a river for fishing and exploring. The area is a rich habitat for native birds and animals such as kingfishers, otters and many other creatures.

Hidden River Cabins was founded by Rob Carr, a dairy farmer from Carlisle.  In order to stand out from the crowd, and because of the wonderful views of their farm and its surroundings, they decided that everyone should feel like they could find the cabins in this unspoiled corner of England.  With the help of his wife Rachel Carr, their 2 children and the team at Hidden River Cabins. They continue to welcome visitors from all over the world.

Rob designed 6 cabins and the wood is sourced from UK forests. The Hidden River Cafe and Reception was built shortly after Cabin 6 was built.  In 2017, Hidden River House was converted from a farmhouse into 2 wings for 16 people.  Hidden River Barn opened in 2020 as a perfect wedding venue for guests.

We have 6 log cabins in a beautiful, secluded Cumbrian village near the Lake District Park. Each cabin is named after the area’s wildlife and fauna. All our cabins sleep up to 8 people.  The cabins are ideal for groups of friends or families traveling together for a special occasion. Honeymooners rave about how romantic and comfortable the cabins are for short breaks. Our check-in time is 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and check-out time is 10:30 AM.

The restored turn-of-the-century house can be divided into two wings for 8 people in each area or can be rented as one house for 16 people, with 8 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms, and each wing has a private bathroom.

We have 2 brand new, newly renovated cottages on a 230-year-old homestead at the top of the Hidden River Estate near Hidden River House.
